Amber-coloured glass bottle, square base, domed shoulders, tubular neck, with a flat reinforced base. There is a flat-topped stopper, but the rim and stopper are obscured by a red leather cap secured by string. The nearly-full bottle contains a dark reddish liquid. A circular label afixed to the front is printed with the words (in red text) 'Acidum / carbol.liquef.' On the back of the bottle is marked with '149g' in handwritten paint.
