Model bottle in Catalin, used as an aid to bottle design, 1950-1965. In 1929, the Catalin Corporation developed a new translucent pigmentation process.When this was combined with phenolic resin a durable, translucent, plastic casting resin called Catalin (pheno formaldehyde) was produced in vibrant colours such as emerald, orange and red.
