Clear glass jar with glass stoper and small paper label. To contain apporximately 10 ounces of narcotine, an alkaloid obtained from opium. It has a midly depressant action upon the cerebral hemispheres. Its effect is similar to that of morphine on sensory cells but is much less marked. Like papaverine it relaxes the tone of plain muscle.
