Tinned box for an ampoule of omnopon

Empty tinned box for "Omnopon" tubunic syringe ampoules supplied to the Royal Navy. 31 mm x 84 mm x 12 mm, 20g. Omnopon is a brand name for papaveretum, an opium alkoloid which was often included in military medicine kits. Printed on the front of the tin is the Royal Navy insignia as wells as, 'AMPOULES (SYRINGE)/OMNOPON'. Instructions are printed on the inner lid for the use of the syringe. Supplied by Roche Products Ltd., England, 1940-1955.
