Small glass phial with cork containing a trace of atropine with cocaine in boxwood case. Phial: 33mm x 7mm diameter. Overall weight: Printed label on interior phial reads, 'ATROPINE/1/250 grn. .(0.27 Mgm)/With COCAINE/1/100 grn. .(0. 65 Mgm.)/Savory & Moore Ltd/LONDON' When used together and applied to mucous membranes, atropine and cocaine served to numb and dilate, lending the substance well to eye surgery. Side effects included rapid heart beat, nausea and vertigo. Supplied by Savory and Moore of London, England, 1880-1920.
