Artificial horizon

Artificial horizon, air driven, modified to incorporate fast re-erection drive.

This modification enables a pilot to quickly re-erect his air driven artificial horizon after the gyro has 'toppled'. By turning and pushing the knob on the front of the unit, a system of spring loaded cams are brought into contact with the gyro gimbals re-erecting the gyro. The cam system is automatically disengaged as soon as the knob is released.
