Early television receiver made by member of RAF, converted from oscilloscope screen, 1946-1950. TRE, Gee navigator - converted into TV receiver, c 1942 components.

After the Second World War there were many who adapted and recycled technology used in the war for other purposes. Many of these projects were televisions, which were often nicknamed 'Green Screen Wonders'. The oscilloscope, normally used for displaying electronic information, was adapted to work as a screen.
