Steam locomotive used at Hetton Colliery

Steam locomotive, Hetton Colliery, 0-4-0, built around 1849 at Hetton Colliery, Durham, withdrawn in 1912. Previously attributed to G Stephenson and N Wood from 1822, a survery carried out in 2019 by Dr Michael Bailey and Peter Davidson revealed the true materials and date of construction. The locomotive was also named "Lyon" after John Lyon whose land much of the Hetton Colliery occupied and from where much of the coal was won.
