The headboard of a royal train, hung at the front of the locomotive, often featured the heraldry of the royal family or family member using it.

This headboard was used at the front of the locomotive taking Prince Albert Edward and Princess Alexandra to Osborne House on the Isle of Wight where they were to spend their honeymoon.
