Delivery notice, Oxford Worcester & Wolverhampton Railway
- Made:
- 1845-1860 in unknown
Notice, Oxford, Worcestershire & Wolverhampton Railway, "Any Servant of this company delivering goods without obtaining the proper charges will subject himself to dismissal, unless the parties to whom the Goods are consign'd have a ledger account". Wooden, painted white with black text and border.
The railways were bound by rules and these helped keep workers and passengers safe. Signs declared what was allowed, and what would happen if rules were broken. Some of the warning notices are very long and required a good level of literacy to read and apply.
