Brass wire cage with wooden terminal and hook, maker unknown, before 1753. Once belonged to Stephen Demainbray.

This brass wire cage is one of a pair and was used with the model diving bell to contain live specimens by Stephen Demainbray in his lectures on natural philosophy.
