Model ship, Single-Screw Steamship `Whitby Abbey', Hull & Netherlands SS Co. Ltd., North Eastern ports, prototype built by W. Gray & Co., West Hartlepool, 1907, broken up 1936. Requisitioned by the Admiralty between February 1915 and December 1919 and commissioned as an Armed Boarding Steamer. Served in the Gallipoli campaign. Known to have had two sister ships, Melrose Abbey, built 1929 and Jervaulx Abbey, built 1908.
