Model steam locomotive, scale 1:12, live steam, 0-6-6-0, double Fairlie locomotive, no. 284, 1879 on machined brass and mahogany bridge stand with integral turntables and rollers to demonstrate articulation when running, prototype not known but possibly built by Avonside of Bristol. Purchased by the Science Museum from Regent Street Polytechnic.
