Everyone needs to get somewhere for a certain time and trains are allocated a spot on the platforms at a fixed time. I think this can mean it is often overlooked, especially now that we all have our phones or digital watches. There are less and less clocks, especially big ones like this. Normally it is tucked into a corner of a digital board that I struggle to read as I am navigating quickly around a platform. Sometimes I just want to be able to quickly check the time, then am struggling to get a phone out or having to stop to read the board—which I will forget anyway as my brain doesn’t instantly process the time. Clocks provide a simple convenience that means you can just get to your train without so much worry.”
