Text:-Engineer, Thomas Grainger Esqre, Contractor james Bray Esqre, Foundation Stone laid March 31st 1846 by Henry Cooper Marshall Esqre, Chairman of Leeds and Thirsk Railway. The quantity of stone used in its erection will exceed 50000tons. Twentyone arches. span of Arch 60ft. Rise of Arch 21ft Greatest height 90ft. Lowest height 60ft. Length of viaduct 1510ft. Width of roadway 30ft. 15.748 x 19.685 in.
