Painting, oil on canvas, London, Piccadilly Circus, by Charles Pears, 1932. Depicts a night time scene in Piccadilly Circus with the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain (Eros) at centre. In the left foreground are a well dressed couple seen in profile. The woman is in a green evening gown, pearls and a fur stole, the main in black tie and top hat. In the background are crowds and three red London buses. The buildings in the background are illuminated with advertising signs for Army Club cigarettes, Sandeman's port, Guinness, Bovril and Schewppes. Original artwork for Great Western Railway poster, London, Enquire for GWR cheap ticket facilities. Unframed.
