Painting, gessowork, Train ferry boat, by Walter Thomas, 1936. Depicts the Southern Railway train ferry Twickenham on a night service from Dover to Dunkirk. The twin funnel ferry is seen from the rear on the starboard side, steaming towards the coast, illuminated by lights in a town. Above is a starry sky. Original artwork for Southern Railway poster, The new train ferry boats, promoting train ferry services from London to Paris. Signed by the artist at bottom left. Framed and glazed.
