Watercolour, Viaduct for the Blackwall Railway over the Regents Canal Basin by Thomas Colman Dibdin, about 1840. Depicts the London and Blackwall Railway bridge over the canal at Limehouse Basin. In the foreground at left is a man, seated, with a woman and child. They are talking to a woman on the back of a pony. There is a basket on the ground alongside, perhaps for collecting shellfish. A boy walks across a lock gate, while nearby two men converse. There are sailing boats beneath the arches of the bridge, and large sailing ships in the basin beyond. Pasted on card.
