Painting, oils on board, The Wye Valley, by Gyrth Russell, about 1955. Depicts the steep sided hills of the Yat gorge on the River Wye, on the border between Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. In the foreground is the hand pulled ferry used to cross between the east and west sides of the village. There are swans and a boat on the river. Original artwork for British Railways poster, The Wye Valley, part of the Travel by Train series. Signed by the artist at bottom right.
