Painting, oil on canvas, The Head of Ullswater at Glenridding, by Claude Buckle, about 1959. Depicts a view of Ullswater in the Lake District, looking north. There is a rowing boat in the foreground near the shore, with another in the distance. A steam pleasure boat leaves the ferry terminal in the centre, with Silver Grag on the right and the slopes around Aira Beck beyond. The mountains in the distance are lit by the warm glow of the sun under a blue sky, with white clouds. Signed by the artist at bottom right. Original poster artwork for British Railways (London Midland Region) poster "The English Lakes".
