Belgian State Railways poster. Bruges (Belgium) - The Artist's Paradise by Flori van Acker, 1911. Views of church, bridge and church interior. Printed by de Haene-Bodart, Bruges. Format: quad royal. The central part of the poster shows the Saint Ursula Shrine (c.1489) by Hans Memling in the St John’s Hospital (now the The Memling Sint-Janshospitaal Museum), two women view the shrine along with a sister in the traditional habit worn until the mid-20th century when the hospital closed. The left panel of the poster depicts the Belfry in the market square and the panel on the right shows a canal. Below the central image are two crests; one with red and white stripes is that of Bruges.
