Poster, British Railways, You Tak' the High Road and I'll Tak' the Rail Road and I'll be in Scotland afore ye, about 1960. Coloured lithograph depicting a cartoon of two Scotsmen, one travelling by car and the other by train, set on a green ground. The train is speeding along a viaduct, possibly intended to represent the Royal Border Bridge, with the large smiling face of a Scotsman wearing a tam o'shanter leaning from the window. Below is a similarly attired, but glum, Scotsman leaning from a car window. The text quotes from the traditional song 'The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond' and is accompanied by musical notation. Additional text advises "Ask at stations and agencies for details of the many express services and cheap fares available". No details given of publisher or printer. Format double royal.
