Poster, Southern Railway, Summer Services for Winter Visitors to Portsmouth, Southsea and Isle of Wight by Charles (Chas) Pears, 1937. Coloured lithograph depicting an electric multiple unit on a curving track among hills and trees, as it exits Buriton tunnel in Hampshire. Text at the bottom of the poster reads "Southern Electric", and is accompanied by the Southern Railway's lightning flash electric logo. In the bottom margin is the text "Southern Railway Advertising AD 4346 1500/1937. Printed by Waterlow & Sons Ltd., London & Dunstable." Format, quad royal, 40 x 50 inches, 1016 x 1270 mm.
