Poster, British Railways, Service to Industry, Steel by Kenneth Steel, 1963. Coloured lithograph depicting a green Sulzer Type 2 (later known as Class 24) diesel locomotive hauling a train of hopper wagons, in front of a steelworks. The accompanying text reads "The great steelworks of the North East entrust to British Railways the delivery each year of about 3,000,000 tons of iron ore and scrap, 1,500,000 tons of limestone, 2,500,000 tons of coal and coke and the dispatch of 2,500,000 tons of finished steel". Text in bottom margin reads "Printed in Great Britain by Jordison & Co. Ltd., London & Middlesbrough. Published by British Railways (North Eastern Region) P/5 12/63". Format double royal. Backed.
