Poster, Midland Railway, Tourist Resorts in the Peak of Derbyshire, about 1903. Coloured lithograph depicting five scenes in the Derbyshire Peak District. At the top is a large illustration entitled "Midland Express through Monsal Dale" showing a Midland Railway passenger train crossing Headstone Dale viaduct. Below is "Peveril Castle & entrance to Peak Cavern, Castleton"; in the centre "Mouth of Peak Cavern" showing a path leading to a cave; at right "Eyam Cross & historic cottages" showing a seventh century Anglo Saxon cross and old cottages"; at the bottom is Hathersage, depicting pack horses crossing a bridge with moors in the distance. At bottom left of the illustration is the word "Photocrom". Text at top right reads "Holiday Resort Series No.4" and below "Programme gratis on application, John Mathieson, General Manager, Derby".
