Poster, London & North Eastern Railway, The Continent via Harwich, Day and night services, by Adolphe Mouron Cassandre, 1928. Coloured lithograph depicting a North Sea ferry and a steam locomotive. It shows the side of the ferry, with funnels above. On the funnel is the Dutch tricolour flag, in red, white and blue. Along the side of the ferry are the words "The Continent". At right, overlaying the hull of the ferry, is a head on view of a locomotive, with the outline of the smokebox in grey against the black hull, with a red buffer beam below. The lettering "via Harwich, Day and night services" appears below. At bottom right is the LNER 'lozenge' logo. At top left is the name of the artist, "A. Mouron Cassandre". Text in the bottom margin reads "Haycock, Cadle & Graham Ltd., London, E.C.4" and "Published by the London & North Eastern Railway". Format double royal.
