Poster, London & North Eastern Railway, North East Coast Industries by Frank Brangwyn, 1935. Coloured lithograph depicting South Bank Ironworks at Eston, near Middlesbrough. The poster, published from Brangwyn's own lithograph in dyrpoint etching style, shows two parallel railway lines, one above the other, with a row of blast furnaces in the background. A line of steelworkers crosses a footbridge to wait for their train on the platform at South Bank station. A steam locomotive approaches the station, with another on the line above, where a permanent way gang is at work on the track. The text below reads "North East Coast Industries, London & North Eastern Rly". Beneath the illustration are the words "Lithographed by Frank Branwyn R.A.". In the bottom left corner is "Published by London & North Eastern Railway" and at bottom right "Printed in England by the Avenue Press London W.C.2". Format: quad royal. Dimensions: 40 x 50 inches, 1016 x 1270mm.
