The poster, published from Brangwyn's own lithograph in dyrpoint etching style, shows two parallel railway lines, one above the other, with a row of blast furnaces in the background. A line of steelworkers crosses a footbridge to wait for their train on the platform at South Bank station. A steam locomotive approaches the station, with another on the line above, where a permanent way gang is at work on the track. The text below reads "North East Coast Industries, London & North Eastern Rly". Beneath the illustration are the words "Lithographed by Frank Branwyn R.A.". In the bottom left corner is "Published by London & North Eastern Railway" and at bottom right "Printed in England by the Avenue Press London W.C.2". Format: quad royal.
