Railway company seal die, steel, South Yorkshire Joint Line Committee, displaying the arms of Great Central Railway, device of Great Northern Railway, device of North Eastern Railway, device of Midland Railway and the device of Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway, incorporated in 1903, 76mm in diameter.
Seal Matrix (reversed), South Yorkshire Joint Line Committee. Before any railway company could exist Parliament had to pass an Act of Incorporation, which required an official seal. Our collection includes more than 1,600 seals. Some are the only surviving artefacts from companies that have long since ceased to exist.
