Mitchell NC (Newsreel Camera) 35mm camera with 1000' magazine and control box, made by the Mitchell Camera Company, in the USA, 1935.

Of the 744 NC cameras made, only nine of this particular model were manufactured. Mitchells were the standard feature film industry camera and in 1966 the manufacturers claimed that '85 per cent of all films shown in theatres throughout the world are filmed with Mitchell cameras'. The cameras are noted for their precision construction.

This camera was used at Ealing Studios in the era of its famous comedies, and later by the BBC. It has a four-lens turret, fitted with Cooke lenses, a rackover mechanism to allow the operator to focus and frame the shot before filming and a Newall finder attached to its side for use in filming.
