The first E.R.A. (English Racing Automobile) car was built in 1934. The engine was supercharged, 6-cylinder of 1 1/2 litre capacity based on the Riley design. A 4-speed preselector gearbox was fitted. The E.R.A. had a maximum speed of 130 m.p.h.
