Armstrong three speed hub for cycle

This is a sectioned example of the three speed gear patented by Mr. A. H. Reilly in 1906 and 1908. In it two equal and separate epicyclic trains are used, one for the high speed and the other for the low, while both sets of four planet pinions are mounted on one carrier which runs on a roller bearing on the spindle.
