Model electrical locomotive - Metroplitan Railway

Model electric locomotive, Metropolitan Railway, scale 1:16, prototype by the Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co. Ltd. 1921, model built by Twining.

This model represents one of twenty electric locomotives supplied to the Metropolitan Railway for working main line trains which ran over both the steam-worked and the electrically-equipped parts of the line.

The locomotives were required to run on a tight schedule, so the design called for high accelaration capabilities in addition to a high overall running speed.
