Great Western Railway model, "Majestic"
- maker:
- Henry Greenly
Model steam locomotive, 1:12 scale, Great Western Railway "Achilles" type 4-2-2 locomotive "Majestic", with tender, 1894, possibly built by Henry Greenly.
This model represents an inside cylinder, single-driving engine of the "Achilles" class, designed by Mr W Dean in 1894, and of which 50 were built between 1894 and 1899 for working the express passenger traffic. They continued to work this traffic until 1908, when loads became too great for them, and these locomotives were all withdrawn in 1915.
