Mercury racking thermometer in leather-covered wooden case by Joseph James Dallaway, (fl.1799-1809), London, England. The thermometer bulb can be racked below the brass scale for immersion in liquid. Scale in degrees Farenheit. Label claims that it was owned by George Cadogan, Glasgow (1754-1798).
