This aircraft was constructed by Short Brothers for J.T.C. Moore-Brabazon. It was used by him to win the Daily Mail £1000 prize for the first 1 mile circular flight by an all-British aircraft in October 1909.
The aircraft is basically a Wright design, with the substitution of between-wing ailerons (referred to as 'balancing-planes') instead of wing warping.
