American white wood Tractor

American white wood Tractor, as used on "Weiss" Monoplane, 1910

This propeller was cut from a solid block of American white wood and designed by Jose Weiss, the maker of the Weiss glider, for an eight-cylinder E.N.V. aero engine of about 30 hp (22 kW). Many years before he produced his first aeroplane, Jose Weiss made numerous experiments to determine the most efficient type of propeller and his design features were frequently adopted at the time by other makers.
