Brass model figurine of James Sadler, 5", (13x3x1.5cm, FL to L) on painted background of balloon. Contemporary black frame, 7 1/2" x 6 1/2" (19x16.5x1.5cm). [ie, probably a door knocker; possibly not James Sadler, as it is painted to resemble Isaac Earlysman Sparrow, whose image is on his copper token (23cm diameter, dated 1825) affixed in the top of the frame, and backdrop painting balloon resembles that outlined on Sparrow's trade card (inv.1946-99). Sparrow also made ascents from Oxford, 1823 and with Green in 1825
