Thirty-inch terrestrial globe showing telegraph cable routes, made by W. & A. K. Johnston Limited, British, 1865-1920
The terrestrial globe is marked with the world's network of telegraph cable routes as it was around 1910. It shows the Pacific Cable Board's route from Vancouver to New Zealand, completed in 1902, as well as many other routes. The globe was probably prepared for display in a cable company's offices.
