Printer serial No. 0859, used for Morse Creed telegraph installation

Printer, brass, serial No. 0859, by Creed and Company Limited, Croydon, Surrey, England, 1945-1948. Used for Morse Creed telegraph installation. The machine comprises a black-painted cast-metal frame supporting a printing mechanism with character typewheel, a brass maker's plate reads: "CREED & CO. LTD / LONDON / PAT Nos. 164370 / 184558 / No. 0859".

The printer is mounted on a two-tier wooden stand constructed from varnished wooden shelves and black-painted tubular metal pipe supports with flanged feet and cross-bracing. Located on the lower shelf is a rheostat enclosed within a perforated black-painted metal case with a circular specification plate reading: " A [blank] / V [blank] / OHMS 100 / No. 1164 7 (or II64 7) / HP [blank]”. Electrical leads connect the rheostat and receiver.
