Brass model, scale 1:8, of the conoidal three-bladed propeller patented and made by George Rennie, Greenwich, Kent, England, 1839. This type of this type of screw propeller was fitted to the iron steam ship 'Mermaid'. In 1842, the 'Mermaid' was purchased for the Royal Navy and renamed HMS 'Dwarf'. HMS 'Dwarf' was the first Royal Navy screw propeller steam ship.
