Whole model, scale 1:24, of the early paddlewheel steamboat the P.S. 'Charlotte Dundas' (1801), by the Science Museum Workshops, South Kensington, London, England, 1903. The model was based on a model lent to the Science Museum by W. H. Rankine. The actual P.S. 'Charlotte Dundas' (1801) was designed by William Symington and used on the River Forth and Clyde Canal.
Whole model (made in the Museum in 1903) of the 'Charlotte Dundas, c.1801. Scale 1:24 It would appear that at least two versions of the 'Charlotte Dundas were built in 1801/1802. This model, as most subsequent models, may incorporate aspects of more than one of the originals.
