Slab of cast glass, 12" x 8" x 1", 1968. Glass is a transparent or translucent material that is physically neither a solid or a liquid.Glass can be shaped by various techniques.Blown glass is either blown individually from molten glass, or blown automatically into a mould. Pressed glass is simply pressed into moulds, while sheet glass is made by passing molten glass through rollers to form a "ribbon", or by floating molten glass on molten tin in the "float glass" process. Casting produces solid objects by pouring molten material into a shaped mould.
