southern electric - a straight line home
Poster, Southern Railway, Southern Electric, A straight line, the quickest way between two points, by Pat Keely, 1931. Coloured lithograph depicting a stylised Southern Railway four car electric train running over geometric instruments. The track is a rule linking "London" and "Home" with the points of a compass stretched between them and a triangular set square alongside. Contrasting with the straight lines of the 'railway' and the instruments is the curve of a river, presumably the Thames. Reference AD 1468 1/1931. Format: double royal. Dimensions: 40 x 25 inches, 1016 x 635mm.
