Contains numerous tables, for estimating the weights and quantities of provisions, water etc.; of types of casks and tanks; re weight of articles in the hull of each class of ship; of the number of yards of canvas in the sails and the weight of sails, cables and anchors; of weight of boats; of rate per ton of labour on all classes of ships; of rates, with their complements of men and number of guns; schem of prices for mast-making, etc. Also copy letters, 1839 Oct-Nov, of T Bouvire, Admiral C E Fleming, Commander-in-Chief, Portsmouth, and Capt Sir Thomas Hastings, of the gunnery ship HMS Excellent, who was Captain Superintendent of the Royal Naval College.
