Marconi Mark II television camera head, made by Marconi's Wireless Telegraphy Company Limited, British, 1951.
The Mark II was the second in a series of 3 inch diameter image orthicon television cameras produced by Marconi. First appearing in 1951, this kind of camera continued to be used by broadcasters such as the BBC throughout the 1950s for outside broadcasts, including notably during the televising of the 1953 Coronation of Elizabeth II.
