Mycelial protein food, one freeze dried disk, made by Rank Hovis MacDougall. Freeze dried and treated, preserved by Archaeological Research Centre, National Maritime Museum.

This breadcrumbed burger is one of the oldest samples of Quorn. Made in 1981, when it was still a lab experiment – and before it was branded ‘Quorn’. Today, burgers are one of many Quorn meat-substitute products, from sausages to mince.
