Model of 56 foot armed steam pinnace
Model, scale 1:24, of an armed steam pinnace with twin funnels (c.1896), by Thames Iron Works, Shipbuilding and Engineering Company Limited, Blackwall, London, England, 1896-1901. Pinnaces were stowed on British warships. This model was originally displayed on a mahogany stand and marked with the following inscription: ‘Model of 56FT Steam Pinnaces as built for the British Admiralty by the Thames Iron Works Shipbuilding & Engineering Company, London. Indicated Horse Power 270, Mean Speed 16.69 Knots.’
