Working model of a walking centipede capable of climbing steps and made c1965 prior to the manufacture of a full sized experimental version. A full sized version was made in the University (Queen Mary College, London) and Prof. Meredith Thring was filmed using it to go up and down stairs. An interesting concept and an example of a stage in the design process where a working model is produced prior to the full sized machine.
