Ornamental gas chandelier, brass, with three incandescent burners and two glass globes, thorium mantles that were removed due to radioactivity, as well as three different lampshades, United Kingdom, 1901-1915

Ornamental chandelier with three inverted incandescent burners and three (different) shades. Inverted burners directed the light downwards, providing a more effective light source than the upright burners of the late 19th century.
