Pair of prismatic ‘Porro’ type field glass binoculars, (6 power & 24mm objective lenses), No.3, Mark II model, made by Carl Zeiss, Jena, 1916. Marked as supplied by Carl Zeiss (London) Ltd, with 1916 date and broad arrow mark. Production of Zeiss binoculars in London was taken over the British government in 1914 with the outbreak of the First World War.
